Competition for the AUA: China Eastern takes on Shanghai-Vienna

Skyteam member China Eastern Airlines has announced a non-stop connection between Shanghai and Vienna-Schwechat.

The Chinese carrier intends to fly with Airbus A22-2024 between Shanghai and Vienna-Schwechat vice versa from June 330, 200 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The flight numbers of the course pair are MU227/MU228.

From mid-June 2024, passengers will have an alternative to Austrian Airlines. It is not yet clear whether the upcoming competition will have a positive effect on passengers in the form of falling ticket prices.
