Hurghada is once again the most frequently booked Easter holiday destination by Tui Austria customers. The Maldives are in second place, followed by Tenerife and Dubai. The Egyptian destination was able to “defend” its position, but Mallorca and Dubai are less in demand this year than in the same period last year.

According to its own statements, Tui Austria has responded to the fact that the Canary Islands continue to be booked frequently. In addition, an additional flight is scheduled for March 23, 2024 to Tenerife and Gran Canaria from Vienna-Schwechat. The top 3 holiday countries are Spain - especially the Canary Islands and Mallorca - ahead of Egypt and the Maldives. Tui has responded to the increased demand for the Maldives by adding additional airfields.

If you look at the regions in detail, Hurghada is once again in first place with a good double-digit increase compared to last year. The Maldives and the Canary Island of Tenerife, which can be visited all year round, have gained a few places compared to last year and are in second and third place in the Tui Easter ranking. Demand for long-haul travel has once again risen sharply. The three most popular holiday destinations on long-haul routes - the Maldives, the United Arab Emirates and the USA - are recording good booking growth. Katharina Doppler-Reitner, Head of Flight and Revenue Management at Tui Austria, reports: "We have responded to the high demand for the Maldives and added more airports to our program by the end of April."

There are still remaining places available for booking on the route from Vienna to the Cape Verde island of Sal. There are still a few seats available on the Easter flights to Rhodes and Chania (Crete). Tui guests can also secure a holiday in the sun in the Maldives or Canary Islands. “Due to the increased bookings, we have added an additional flight each to Gran Canaria and Tenerife with Austrian Airlines. “We also offer departures from Vienna to Tenerife and Madeira several times a week at Easter with our new airline partner Wizz Air,” adds Doppler-Reitner.

City trips have seen a considerable increase compared to the previous year: This year at Easter, a particularly large number of Tui guests are traveling to the most popular metropolises worldwide. London tops the list of best-booked cities and comes fourth in the Easter top destinations ranking. New York, Hamburg and Barcelona follow in second, third and fourth place in the city ranking. Tui experiences offers thousands of events and activities in the most popular cities worldwide. From a helicopter flight over New York to the sustainably certified National Geographic Day Tour in Barcelona, where you can discover Gaudi's hidden treasures with an experienced guide.
