It took a long time, but now the train drivers' union GDL and Deutsche Bahn AG have agreed on a compromise. This means that further industrial action is off the table.
Employee representatives have called on their members to go on strike several times, thereby largely bringing rail traffic in Germany to a standstill. Private railways were not affected. In the negotiations, the GDL was able to push through numerous demands. This applies, among other things, to the 35-hour week.
