Discover Airlines, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, is further expanding its long-haul offerings from Munich and has launched a new direct connection to Calgary, Canada. The inaugural flight to Canada's fourth-largest city, which is considered the gateway to Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains, recently took place. The new connection will be operated three times a week with an Airbus A330, departing Munich at 13:25 p.m.
With the launch of flights to Calgary, Discover Airlines completes the launch of its new intercontinental base at Munich Airport. The airline previously launched direct flights to Orlando, USA, and Windhoek, Namibia. All three new long-haul destinations will be served with Airbus A330 aircraft. The expansion of long-haul services underscores the importance of Munich as a growing location for the leisure airline.
Discover Airlines now has a fleet of eight aircraft and serves a total of 32 vacation destinations. The route network includes both short- and medium-haul routes, as well as new long-haul connections. The airline offers a total of 80 weekly departures from its various locations. The expansion of services from Munich is intended to further strengthen Discover Airlines' position in tourism air travel and offer travelers a wider selection of direct flights to attractive vacation destinations.
