EU-wide entry and exit system is postponed again

Actually, a new EU-wide entry and exit system should be introduced in May 2023. This date will not be kept, because numerous - still unresolved - problems have arisen.

The EU Commission assumes that the EES can only be introduced at the end of 2023. This is not the first delay as the system should have been up and running since last year. The latest postponement is welcomed by various industry associations, as they fear that any "teething troubles" could have a negative impact on passenger and tourist numbers.
