British low-cost carrier EasyJet has announced the start of bookings for its 2027 summer flight schedule to Switzerland. For the travel period from June 14th to September 26th, 2027, the airline will offer a total of over five million seats on more than 27.000 flights to and from Switzerland.
The flight program is essentially based on the three Swiss locations Geneva, Basel-Mulhouse and Zurich, with the focus of the connections being on the airports of Geneva and EuroAirport Basel.
The route network covers a wide range of European city and holiday destinations. In addition to classic holiday regions in the Mediterranean and North Africa, including Mallorca, the Canary Islands, Crete, Madeira, as well as Egyptian and Moroccan destinations, the flight schedule includes European capitals and metropolises such as Berlin, Rome, Prague, and Lisbon. Another focus is on flights to the United Kingdom, with direct connections to London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Bristol.
By pursuing an early sales strategy, the airline is attempting to secure liquidity early and make its fleet utilization predictable for the year after next. The market for short- and medium-haul flights from Switzerland is characterized by intense competition, with Easyjet competing, particularly at its Geneva and Basel hubs, against carriers such as Swiss and other European low-cost airlines. The tiered ticket pricing reflects revenue management, offering lower entry prices for tickets booked early, while fares increase as demand grows.
Industry observers point out, however, that such long lead times in flight schedule sales pose risks for consumers as well as for the airline's operational flexibility. Operationally driven schedule adjustments, slot reassignments, or economic fluctuations can still lead to changes in flight times or routes within a period of almost two years until the flight date. Furthermore, it remains to be seen how the overall demand for air travel in Switzerland will develop in light of future purchasing power trends and airport fees.
