Even more than 30 years after German reunification, there are only a few long-distance connections in eastern Germany. The Prime Ministers are now demanding that the offer from Leipzig/Halle and Berlin-Brandenburg be increased.

The prime ministers of the eastern German states recently held a meeting and then rumbled that this region of Germany would be almost completely cut off from long-haul air traffic. There are also calls for the federal government to work to ensure that there should be more intercontinental flights from Berlin and Leipzig/Halle.
