The Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss is continuing its expansion course and will be adding two fascinating destinations in North America to its long-haul network from summer 2025: Seattle in the USA and Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada. These new destinations offer travelers the opportunity to discover both urban highlights and spectacular natural landscapes, thus expanding the airline's already diverse offering.

From June 2025, Edelweiss will serve Seattle twice a week, Mondays and Saturdays, nonstop from Zurich. The northwestern metropolis of the USA, known for its dynamic mix of urbanity and nature, will thus be even easier to reach. Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, will be served nonstop from Zurich on Thursdays and Sundays from July to the beginning of October. These additions not only offer travelers new vacation options, but also a valuable expansion of Edelweiss' existing North American portfolio.

Seattle: City of contrasts and natural wonders

Seattle, the vibrant metropolis in the Pacific Northwest, impresses with its unique combination of urban flair and stunning nature. The city is world-famous for the iconic Space Needle and the historic Pike Place Market, which is considered to be one of the oldest continuously operating markets in the USA. In addition, Seattle has a thriving art and music scene, characterized by numerous galleries, live music bars and cultural festivals.

The area around Seattle offers some of the most spectacular natural landscapes on the continent. Olympic National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, impresses with its diverse flora and fauna. The majestic mountains of the Cascade Range offer impressive hiking and skiing opportunities, while Puget Sound, a stunning inland sea, offers numerous recreational activities such as boating and kayaking. For those looking for adventure, Seattle is the ideal starting point for road trips along the scenic west coast to California or to the famous Yellowstone National Park.

Halifax: Historic heart and natural paradise

Halifax, as the gateway to Atlantic Canada, offers a rich history and vibrant cultural scene. The city is known for the historic Citadel, which offers impressive views of the city, and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, which provides exciting insights into Canada's maritime history. Halifax's waterfront, a popular place for strolling, invites you to enjoy the city's maritime atmosphere.

Nova Scotia, the province where Halifax is located, is a true paradise for nature lovers. The Cape Breton Highlands National Park offers breathtaking hiking trails and panoramic views, while the coastal regions offer a relaxed atmosphere with their idyllic beaches and charming fishing villages. In autumn, the landscape turns into a play of gold and red tones, which is a particular highlight for many travelers. The region is also known for its excellent cuisine, which is heavily influenced by fresh seafood.
