On Friday, June 27, 2025, Klagenfurt Airport to an emergency landing of a private aircraft, which ended without incident. The pilot was uninjured in the incident, which was caused by a landing gear problem.
At 14:25 p.m., Klagenfurt Air Traffic Control and the airport management received information that a Bücker 133 C Jungmeister private aircraft would have to make an emergency landing in Klagenfurt. The Klagenfurt Airport Fire Department was immediately put on alert. A Red Cross ambulance and the police arrived on the scene within minutes. The private aircraft, which was occupied by only one person – the pilot – landed at 14:59 p.m. The pilot managed to avoid major damage to the aircraft.
As a result of the incident, the airport had to be closed to all air traffic for 33 minutes. According to airport management, the rescue chain worked flawlessly, and the emergency services involved were thanked for their excellent cooperation. Regular operations at Klagenfurt Airport resumed as early as 15:32 p.m., thus avoiding major disruptions to the flight schedule.
