The United Arab Emirates ban all drone flights after a drone attack on critical infrastructure in Abu Dhabi.

The United Arab Emirates ban all flight operations with ultralight and gliders. A “general ban on flying” also applies to private drones. Violations are therefore punished with imprisonment of between six months and five years. In addition, a hefty fine of 100.000 dirhams is due – the equivalent of around 24.000 euros. The Ministry of the Interior initially gave no reason for the restrictions. This month, however, Abu Dhabi has been the target of attacks by Yemeni rebels, some of which are said to have been carried out using drones. The situation on the ground is currently tense.
