Emirates airline has opened its new lounge in the Satellite 1 Terminal (SAT-1) at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport. With an area of 1.454 square meters and a capacity for 250 guests, it is Emirates' largest international lounge outside Dubai. The extensive renovation of the premises cost around five million US dollars.
The lounge offers first and business class passengers as well as Skywards members exclusive facilities with elegant seating areas, high-quality food and drinks as well as amenities such as shower facilities and free WiFi. A special culinary offering includes both international dishes and classic Thai desserts. The lounge is located in the immediate vicinity of the departure areas and enables quick access to the gates.
Emirates currently operates 41 of its own lounges worldwide, including seven at its hub Dubai International Airport. The opening in Bangkok is part of the airline's 35th anniversary celebrations in Thailand. Emirates flies five times a day between Dubai and Bangkok, using Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, and also offers two daily connections to Phuket and a direct flight between Bangkok and Hong Kong.
