On May 17, 2024, a plane from the Turkish airline Air Anka took off from Erfurt Airport to Antalya for the first time. The Boeing 737-700 with 168 passengers took off at 14:55 p.m. under flight number 6K 5316. From now on, Air Anka will offer daily flights on this route.

Air Anka, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Izmir, operates charter flights throughout Germany for the broker Involatus Carrier Consulting and renowned tour operators. The following day, May 18, 2024, Freebird Airlines also resumed operations in Erfurt. The Airbus A320 took off for Antalya at 01:10 a.m. with 171 passengers under flight number FH 104. Freebird Airlines will operate flights from Erfurt every Thursday and Saturday until autumn.
