The Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings announced that it would expand its base at Hanover Airport, which only opened in 2023. In addition to the Airbus A2023, which has been based there since October 320, a second aircraft of the same type will be stationed in Hanover.

This expansion of flight offers 17 destinations for the summer, including Stockholm, Rome, Naples, Catania, Bergamo, Faro, Malaga, Thessaloniki, Pristina and Mallorca. Eurowings boss Jens Bischof emphasized that the offer enables Lower Saxony to be better connected to popular sunny destinations in southern Europe and represents a strong commitment to Hanover as an air traffic location and the region. Airport boss Martin Roll emphasized that the flight schedule from Hanover would become even more attractive thanks to the Eurowings destinations, especially the new destinations in Italy, which had been on the wish list for a long time.
