Eurowings introduces new service elements for passengers

Advertising

The Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings has introduced new service components designed to enhance the passenger travel experience. Among the innovations is a specially developed signature fragrance called "Burgundy Breeze", which is diffused throughout the cabin. This composition of sea salt, pepper, and various floral scents is intended to create a harmonious ambience on board and enhance the well-being of passengers.

Furthermore, passengers will receive small gifts upon disembarking from the aircraft. These include fruit and mint candies printed in the company colors "Burgundy“ (dark red) and “Sky Blue" (sky blue). This gesture is intended to provide travelers with a pleasant farewell to their flight and leave a positive impression. Such small service details are increasingly being used in the aviation industry to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen brand loyalty.

Another element of the service expansion is the introduction of atmospheric background music during boarding and disembarkation. This musical accompaniment is intended to create a more relaxed atmosphere and make the transition between the airport and the aircraft more pleasant. According to the airline, natural sounds will also be integrated to create a calming and welcoming feeling. These measures are part of Eurowings' broader strategy to optimize the passenger experience beyond pure transportation and to differentiate itself through additional comfort in a competitive market.

The introduction of these new service elements demonstrates that airlines continue to invest in aspects that directly target passengers' sensory and emotional experiences. These so-called "soft factors" are becoming increasingly important, alongside primary services such as punctuality and safety, for retaining existing customers and attracting new ones. It remains to be seen how these innovations will be received by travelers and whether they can actually contribute to a noticeable improvement in the flight experience.
