The Austrian Armed Forces is looking for a successor to the C-130 “Hercules” aircraft in its own repertoire. According to the media, a decision has already been made: the Embraer C-390 will be the successor to “Hercules”.
The Austrian Federal Army has numerous C-130 “Hercules” aircraft in its own inventory, some of which are already outdated, which makes the question of succession very essential. The decision in this regard is said to have already been made, as the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation explains. The armed forces should look for the successor to the manufacturer Embraer in the interests of the C-390 aircraft. Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner reports that there are plans to purchase four aircraft of this type. The machines in question are expected to replace the old “Hercules” aircraft from 2030.
