Rail strike: Flixbus criticized for high ticket prices

The recent rail strike brought many additional passengers to Flixbus and Flixtrain, which were not affected by the industrial action. But the group is also criticized because the reservation system collapsed at times due to an enormous amount of access.

The sharp increase in demand has also led to significantly higher ticket prices than usual on many routes. Flixbus and Flixtrain are therefore likely to have benefited financially from the strike that affected their competitor Deutsche Bahn AG. However, it is common practice in the industry that the last places are generally sold at high prices. The supply was probably significantly lower than the demand.
