Frankfurt Airport recorded around 2024 million passengers in July 6,0, a slight increase of 0,5 percent compared to the same month last year. European destinations such as the Balearic Islands, Portugal and Italy were particularly popular.
Long-haul traffic, especially to the USA and China, increased significantly, with traffic to and from China increasing by 35,5 percent compared to the previous year. The passenger load factor reached a new high of 86,1 percent, surpassing the previous record from August 2015. Despite the positive development, passenger volume is still 12,7 percent below the pre-crisis level of 2019.
In the freight sector, volumes rose by 5,0 percent to 172.741 tons. The number of aircraft movements remained almost unchanged at 40.515 takeoffs and landings, while maximum takeoff weights increased slightly by 0,6 percent to around 2,5 million tons.
Fraport's international airports also showed a mixed picture in July. Overall, passenger volume at all airports managed by Fraport remained stable at around 21,8 million.
