On Monday, April 15, 2024, an emergency slide incident occurred on a Boeing 767-300 operated by Delta Air Lines at London Gatwick Airport.

The long-haul aircraft, which has the registration N198DN, was actually only supposed to make a stopover at Gatwick. However, an emergency slide was accidentally “shot”. This hit a catering vehicle that was waiting next to the machine. Other than the cost of replacing the slide, there was no significant damage.

Delta Air Lines had a small but important problem: it took a lot of time to replace the “broken” emergency slide. This caused a delay of around three hours to flight DL63.
