The Estonian Condor sister company Marabu Airlines will operate nine aircraft from the Airbus A2024 series in the 320 summer flight schedule. This is two more than the current status.

The company wants to station four machines each in Munich and Hamburg. The ninth unit is intended to be used as a backup machine. “Marabu Airlines is starting its second year with the 2024 summer flight schedule. We are building on the successes of the last few months and have further developed the flight plan so that from May we can build on the recently significantly improved operational stability and punctuality. The additional capacities and reserves from expanding our fleet will help us in this regard. The great response from many thousands of satisfied passengers encourages us to continually develop Marabu and to establish the airline as a permanent fixture in the European holiday flight market,” said Axel Schefe, interim CEO of Marabu.

In the 2024 summer flight schedule, Marabu tickets will continue to be sold via its sister company Condor, which acts as a so-called general sales agent. Furthermore, an intra-group codeshare agreement has now been concluded. This means that Marabu flights can now also be booked using Condor flight numbers. In this case, passengers should be made aware of this via the note “operated by Marabu Airlines”. Whether Condor is really doing itself a favor is another matter. Since some routes have recently been switched from Condor to Marabu, the affected passengers will be informed in the next few days.

The Estonian Condor sister company repeatedly failed to make it into the 2023 summer flight schedule due to long delays and cancellations to hit the headlines. Recently there has been great dissatisfaction on the part of passengers because, for example, flight connections in Hamburg and Stuttgart that were initially offered as Condor flights were switched to Marabu Airlines. Many passengers did not agree with this. To an unusually high extent, Estonian-based carriers rely on ACMI services from other airlines.
