The Federal Republic of Germany seems to have a problem with electronic entry registrations, because, according to the Federal Police Headquarters, around 13 percent of travelers in air traffic fill them in incorrectly or not at all. The executive confirmed this to the DPA.

The number of unreported cases is likely to be significantly higher, however, because there are no systematic controls for arrivals from the Schengen region. The federal police officers only conduct random checks. In the period from November 8, 2020 up to and including January 10, 2021, there were 185.800 electronic entry registrations. According to the DPA, defects were found in 24.540 pieces or they were not present at all.

Germany requires that this registration must be completed online if you are staying in a risk area defined by the Robert Koch Institute. In exceptional cases, a so-called substitute notification can be filled in on paper. Obviously, many travelers don't take it very seriously. The previous "exit cards" did not make things any easier for the authorities, because they were often included Fake data filled. However, there is a lack of systematic controls in Germany.
