Hamburg hosts 42nd International Airport Race

The 42nd International Airport Race will take place on Sunday, 14 September 2025, at Hamburg Airport Organizers expect thousands of runners to complete the ten-mile (16,1-kilometer) course.

The route runs directly along the airport fence and through a parking garage. Runners also pass through the Krohnstieg Tunnel, which runs beneath one of the runways.

The race is organized by BMS Die Laufgesellschaft and takes place in cooperation with the Lufthansa Sportverein Hamburg. In addition to the main course, a five-kilometer run and shorter distances for children and schoolchildren are also on the program.

The event is considered a long-standing tradition at Hamburg Airport. Airport representatives emphasized the long-standing partnership and the interest shown by the surrounding community. Registration is still open.
