Klagenfurt Airport celebrated the launch of a new non-stop service from Hanover with a celebratory reception. The South Tyrolean airline Sky Alps, in cooperation with the German tour operator UKS Touristik, will operate the route up to twice a week, thus creating an important connection between Northern Germany and Carinthia. Representatives of Carinthian Tourism and Klagenfurt Airport expressed their delight at this step to strengthen regional connections.

The inaugural flight from Hanover (HAJ) landed on schedule at Klagenfurt Airport (KLU) and was greeted with a traditional water fountain from the airport fire department. The Sattnitz Trio provided the musical accompaniment, welcoming the arriving guests with Carinthian sounds. Maximilian Wildt, Managing Director of Klagenfurt Airport, emphasized the importance of the route extension for the airport's sustainable development and highlighted the attractiveness of the new route for both vacationers in Carinthia and travelers to Lower Saxony. Christian Henkel, Managing Director of UKS Touristik, who was himself on board the inaugural flight, emphasized the cooperative partnership with Carinthian Tourism and the joy of being able to offer Carinthia as a new vacation destination.

Sky Alps President Josef Gostner described the new connection as an important milestone in the airline's expansion strategy and a contribution to strengthening its presence in the Austrian market. Deputy Governor Martin Gruber praised the cooperation as the result of many years of collaboration and an important step towards strengthening Klagenfurt Airport in the Alps-Adriatic region. He saw it as a sign of the airport's positive development under the current management. Klaus Ehrenbrandtner, Managing Director of Kärnten Werbung, expects the new flight route to strengthen the important core market of Germany, particularly for guests from northern Germany, for whom Carinthia has previously been more difficult to reach by car. Flights between Klagenfurt and Hanover operate on Mondays and Thursdays. Sky Alps operates a fleet of DASH-8 Q-400 aircraft and places great emphasis on premium service with regional food and beverages on board. UKS Touristik offers hand-picked package tours to selected holiday destinations and is now expanding its offering to include Carinthia.
