Heringsdorf Airport will put modernized navigation procedures into operation in time for summer 2024. The switch to satellite-based systems is scheduled to be completed on May 4, 2024.

According to a statement from the airport, this will mean that so-called precision approaches will be possible in both directions of the runway. As a result, they want to make themselves more attractive and hope to attract more airlines. Luxair, Lufthansa and Rhein-Neckar-Air (operated by MHS Aviation), among others, have registered for summer 2024.
