A special flight on behalf of the Spanish football club Atletico Madrid landed at Münster/Osnabrück Airport on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. There were a total of three extra-tour flights for the team, VIPs and fans.

For the first time, a wide-body Airbus A350-900 aircraft with 432 seats landed at the FMO. After the end of the football game, both the team and the supporters of the football club began their journey home to Spain in three special machines. Because the airport is open 24 hours a day, the FMO has been a fixture for handling international football flights for years.
