Last year, the Air Astana Group carried a total of almost seven million passengers, 79 percent more than in the Corona year 2020.
The Kazakh airline Air Astana alone welcomed a total of around 3,5 million passengers on board, which corresponds to an increase of 59 percent compared to the previous year. The low-cost airline Fly Arystan was even able to more than double its passenger numbers: in 2021 it registered over three million passengers - an increase of 109 percent compared to 2020. The cargo sector is also impressive: in 2021, the Air Astana Group transported a total of 12.072 tons of air freight on scheduled flights (+30 percent compared to 2020) and a further 6.700 tons on charter flights (+45 percent).
"The figures demonstrate the strong recovery compared to 19, which was so massively affected by Covid-2020. The more than 6,6 million passengers carried also represent a record in our company's history. Thanks to an extremely strong performance, Fly Arystan contributed greatly to this positive development. In 2021, the airline completed only its second full year of operation and was already able to book almost as many passengers as Air Astana," said President and CEO Peter Foster.
