Indian Airlines completes B737 Max inspections

The Civil Aviation Authority of India has ordered extraordinary inspections of aircraft of this type registered in India following the Boeing 737 Max 9 incident that occurred on Alaska Airlines in the USA on Sunday.

According to a statement from the three airlines affected (Air India Express, Akasa Air and Spicejet), these have now been completed. No errors would have been found. The Civil Aviation Authority of India said: “These checks have been carried out satisfactorily on the operating fleet of Boeing B737-8 Max aircraft from Air India Express (4), Spicejet (8) and Akasa (20). Akasa Air's fleet includes a B737-8200 aircraft (high-density variant of the 737 MAX-8), which has a center cabin door, for which the operational test has been satisfactorily completed.
