Israel opens doors for the vaccinated and the convalescent

Citizens who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus or have recovered from illness can no longer be denied access to cultural events, bars or sports facilities.

The government passed this resolution on Sunday, introducing easier access for vaccinated and recovered individuals in Israel. The Green Passport will serve as the "ticket" to this access, as it stores all relevant health information and serves as an indicator of data accuracy. According to the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF ), the vaccination certificate can be generated online as early as one week after the second dose . With this proof of vaccination, people will then be allowed to visit gyms, hotels, theaters, and stadiums again.

Health Minister Juli Edelstein wrote on Twitter that more than 3,2 million Israelis could now enjoy these benefits. “The green passport is gradually opening the country again,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday evening. The vaccination campaign in Israel is very advanced compared to other countries. The country with its 9,3 million inhabitants is considered a pioneer. Every citizen from the age of 16 can now be vaccinated.
