Korean Air and Westjet expand codeshare cooperation

Korean Air and WestJet expanded their codeshare partnership on April 22, 2024 to offer more trans-Pacific destinations to their passengers. Korean Air will begin selling flights on WestJet's new Seoul Incheon-Calgary route starting May 17, 2024.

The partnership will give WestJet customers access to six new destinations through the Korean Air hub at Incheon International Airport: Bangkok, Da Nang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Tae Joon Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of International Affairs & Alliance at Korean Air, said: “We are pleased to announce an expanded codeshare with our long-standing partner WestJet, offering our passengers connectivity to a wide range of trans-Pacific destinations .” Jeff Hagen, vice-president of commercial development and strategic partnerships at WestJet, highlighted the benefits for passengers and WestJet Rewards members, as well as the enhanced travel options in Asia from one of the world's busiest cities.

Since the codeshare partnership was started in June 2012, it has been continuously expanded and now includes a total of 36 routes.
