With the start of the winter holidays in Saxony, a total of 77 passenger planes will take off from central German airports from Friday to Sunday - 45 from Leipzig/Halle Airport and 32 from Dresden Airport. The travel destinations include holiday resorts on the Mediterranean, in the Atlantic, on the Red Sea and in Scandinavia, as well as European and German metropolises.
At the start of the holidays, 26 aircraft will depart from Leipzig/Halle to holiday destinations and 19 scheduled flights. Popular destinations include Hurghada with six flights, Antalya and Las Palmas with four flights each, and Mallorca with three flights. Other holiday destinations in the flight schedule are Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Marsa Alam. In addition, two flights will depart to Kuusamo in Finland. 19 scheduled flights to hubs are also planned, including twelve to Frankfurt. The connection to Vienna will be served three times, and Istanbul and London will each be served twice.
The winter flight schedule of Leipzig/Halle Airport offers connections to a total of 21 destinations in 13 countries, which are served by 16 airlines. Up to 126 passenger flights depart every week.
At Dresden Airport, 25 scheduled and seven holiday planes will take off for the start of the holiday season. Destinations such as Antalya, Hurghada and Mallorca will be served by two flights each, and there will also be flights to Gran Canaria. Lufthansa flies from Dresden the most frequently and flies to the Frankfurt hub twelve times. Ten flights depart to Munich. Eurowings also flies to Düsseldorf twice, and Swiss connects Dresden with Zurich. There are numerous connecting flights worldwide via the Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich hubs.
Dresden Airport's winter flight schedule offers connections to 14 destinations in eleven countries, served by eight airlines. Up to 79 flights depart per week.
It should be noted that the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has reduced its offering in Germany and has announced that it will no longer fly to Dresden and Leipzig, among others, in summer 2025. However, these changes do not affect the current winter flight schedule.
