During this year's Global Partner Council (GPC) in Chantilly, France, Lufthansa Cargo honored the international logistics and transport company Expeditors with the "Excellence Award 2024." This award, presented annually to a selected partner since 1999, recognizes outstanding collaboration and performance in the global air cargo business. The GPC is an annual meeting hosted by Lufthansa Cargo with its largest customers and its own top management.

Ashwin Bhat, Managing Director of Lufthansa Cargo, emphasized the importance of Expeditors as a "strong global partner." The collaboration is characterized by professionalism at all levels, from handling to corporate management. He praised Expeditors for open communication, proactive action, and a high degree of reliability and trust. In 2024, the global collaboration was restructured with a comprehensive contract. In the coming months, the joint focus will be on the further expansion of the healthcare and, in particular, the pharmaceutical segment. This close coordination at the global level makes an important contribution to Lufthansa Cargo's mission of "Enabling Global Business."

Accepting the award in Chantilly, Tim Barber, Executive Vice President Europe of Expeditors, emphasized that the partnership between Expeditors and Lufthansa Cargo has continuously evolved through close cooperation and mutual trust. This is underpinned by a shared commitment to operational excellence and the dedication of the teams on both sides. He described Lufthansa Cargo as a "valued strategic partner" and expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the recognition.

Lufthansa Cargo is one of the world's leading cargo airlines and part of the Lufthansa Group, the largest airline group in Europe. The company, a specialist in air freight transport, transports an average of 2.500 tons of cargo per day across a network encompassing around 350 destinations in over 100 countries. In addition to marketing cargo capacity on passenger aircraft operated by Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, ITA Airways, and SunExpress, Lufthansa Cargo operates its own freighter fleet of 18 Boeing 777Fs and four Airbus A321Fs. In addition, around 300 trucks are in operation daily under a Lufthansa Cargo flight number to provide customized, fast, and efficient logistics solutions along the entire supply chain. In 2024, the company generated revenue of €3,26 billion and a transport performance of 8,5 billion freight tonne-kilometers, and currently employs around 4.200 people worldwide.
