Lufthansa City Airlines is significantly expanding its route network in the second half of 2025. The new airline will take over six additional routes from its parent company Lufthansa and integrate them into its flight schedule from Munich, according to current flight schedule data.
The first new route will launch on July 1st and will be to Seville, which will be served daily. Naples will follow on August 1st, also with daily flights, and Sofia will offer six to seven weekly flights. The route to Catania will be served daily starting September 1st. The expansion will conclude in October with the routes to Bucharest, which will be served twice daily, and to Alicante, which will be served six times weekly. All of these new routes will be served with modern Airbus A320neo aircraft.
As part of this expansion, Lufthansa City Airlines will increase the frequency of its service to Naples to 20 weekly flights starting in September. The route to Seville had already been announced in advance. This strategy underscores the role of Lufthansa City Airlines as an important part of the Group's fleet and is intended to further strengthen the connectivity of the Munich hub. The acquisition of these services from Lufthansa is intended to increase efficiency in the short- and medium-haul segment.
