The Czech airline Smartwings will have the engines of its Boeing 737NG and 737 Max fleet overhauled by Lufthansa Technik in the future.

The two companies have announced that they have concluded a corresponding agreement. The first loading is planned for the beginning of 2025. In addition, the existing service contract for the CFM56-7B engines powering 30 Smartwings Boeing 737NGs has been extended until 2030.

“Based on our successful collaboration, the newly signed, long-term engine maintenance contract for our Boeing 737NG and Max shows our continued trust in Lufthansa Technik’s expertise. He will further optimize our technical flight operations,” said Jiri Juran, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Smartwings.
