The German airline Lufthansa and the Swiss airline SWISS are planning to expand their route network to the Balkan region. This mainly involves flights to Belgrade, Ljubljana and Zagreb.

SWISS will now serve the Serbian capital Belgrade with a weekly flight. This means that the Swiss airline flies to Belgrade a total of 17 times per week.

The city of Ljubljana will also be served more frequently, as the Ex-Yu Aviation News portal reports. SWISS plans to increase the number of weekly flights to 14, while Germany's Lufthansa offers a total of 24 weekly flights. Lufthansa is increasing its offering by three flights per week.

The capital Zagreb will also be served more frequently; Lufthansa is planning to increase its flights by five weekly flights from Munich and Frankfurt. Four additional flights to Zagreb are planned from Munich and one additional flight from Frankfurt.
