Lufthansa and Eurowings Discover intend to fly to around 2022 European destinations from Frankfurt am Main and Munich in the 160 summer flight schedule. On the occasion of the soccer world championship, which will take place in Qatar, 25 special flights will be launched from Frankfurt.

Four additional long-haul Airbus A350 aircraft will be stationed at Munich Airport. These are the leasing machines that were previously used by Philippine Airlines. With the start of the summer flight schedule on March 27, 2022, the airline will be flying non-stop for the first time from the Bavarian capital to the Brazilian metropolis of Rio de Janeiro and to San Diego in the USA. In addition, Bangkok in Thailand will again be served direct from Munich at the beginning of the summer flight schedule. In addition, five Airbus A340-600s will be used again with a first class in the summer.

In Europe, Lufthansa is offering six new holiday destinations from Munich. One of them: Kalamata in Greece. New destination in Spain: the island of Menorca. Also new: Varna on the Black Sea. Billund in Denmark and Bergen in Norway are new destinations in Northern Europe. From April Air Dolomiti will also take on Brindisi in Italy.

From the summer flight schedule 2022, Eurowings Discover will also start from Munich. The airline then flies to the sunny destinations of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Cancun in Mexico and the American metropolis Las Vegas. In the course of the summer flight schedule, there are also 22 short and medium-haul tourist destinations in the Eurowings Discover flight schedule, including the Canary Islands, destinations in Turkey and twelve Greek islands. The holiday airline takes over the routes from Lufthansa. There are new flights to Samos and Skiathos in Greece.

Focus on the USA from Frankfurt am Main

From Frankfurt am Main, Lufthansa is relying more than ever on US routes. From June 2022, St. Louis in the US state of Missouri will be added for the first time. The first non-stop flight by an airline from continental Europe in around 20 years. The city on the Mississippi is home to numerous international companies.

Lufthansa will be flying to Stavanger (Norway) and, for the first time, Liverpool (Great Britain) from the summer. And from May also the Breton capital Rennes (France). In the summer of 2022, Eurowings Discover attracts many short, medium and long-haul destinations from Frankfurt: For North America fans, in addition to Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Fort Myers, Anchorage, Halifax and Calgary are also on the flight schedule. Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Panama City and Malé in the Maldives will be added to the airline's current winter flight schedule in summer. In addition to the 19 long-haul destinations, Eurowings Discover also has a wide range of short and medium-haul tourist offers, including nine Greek islands, the Canary Islands, Portugal and Turkey. As planned, the routes will be taken over by Lufthansa in the course of the summer.

On the occasion of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Lufthansa is temporarily offering a total of 14 special fan flights from Frankfurt to Doha (Qatar) between November 2022, 19 and December 2022, 25. You can choose from up to five flights a week. Lufthansa uses an Airbus A620-340 under the flight number LH 300. These flights can be booked from December 16, 2021.
