Lufthansa uses larger aircraft on the Nuremberg–Frankfurt route

Lufthansa has upgraded the flight connection between Nuremberg and Frankfurt as of November 10, 2024.

Instead of the smaller CRJ900 regional jets previously used, the airline now mainly serves the route with the larger Airbus models A319 and A320. On this route, which is operated up to five times a day, Lufthansa is also using CRJ1000 aircraft from its wet lease partner Cityjet in the winter flight schedule.

By switching to the Airbus models, Lufthansa is responding to increasing demand for this domestic German feeder connection to the Frankfurt hub and is offering its passengers more seats and improved comfort. In line with sustainability goals, the newly deployed aircraft types are also intended to offer more efficient connections at high capacity utilization. This change will give Nuremberg's Albrecht Dürer Airport a stronger connection to the Lufthansa network, further linking the region with international destinations.
