Luxembourg gets tram connection to the airport

In the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Findel Luxembourg Airport will in future be directly accessible via a tram line.

The connection is provided by a 3,9-kilometer-long extension of the tram from the Luxexpo exhibition center to the airport. Travelers can then get from the old town to the airport in around 30 minutes without changing trains. In addition to a stop at the airport, a "Park+Ride" station for commuters will also be set up near the airport.

This extension is part of a wider plan to significantly expand the tram system in Luxembourg in the coming years. Several new routes and stations are planned over the next decade, further improving connections to the airport. Public transport in Luxembourg is generally free, and this also applies to travel to the airport.

The old town of Luxembourg is not connected to the tram network. The upper town, the station district, Bonnevoie, Cloche d'or, Limpertsberg, Kirchberg are connected, but neither the old town nor Malpartes.
