Mallorca: Air Europa 737 and Condor 757 came too close to each other

Advertising

On the morning of September 19, 2023, the Boeing 737-800 operated by Air Europa with the registration EC-MJU made an unpleasant acquaintance with the Condor B757 D-ABOJ. The first mentioned aircraft hit the parked jet of the German airline.

There was only material damage, which according to airport operator Aena is said to be minor. Randomly recorded videos show that small parts of both machines fell off and fell to the ground.

The Air Europa aircraft came from Barcelona as UX6007 and was actually supposed to fly to Bilbao as UX7506. The Condor aircraft should have flown to Frankfurt am Main as DE1774. This was initially no longer possible because both aircraft had to be repaired. The authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
