Marabu Airlines, a sister company of Condor, will open its own base at Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) starting with the 2025 summer flight schedule. The airline will station three Airbus A320neo aircraft there, expanding its range of tourist destinations in the region. With up to 47 weekly departures, Marabu will serve a variety of vacation destinations.

Destinations served include the Greek islands of Crete, Kos, Corfu, and Rhodes; the Portuguese destinations of Faro and Funchal; and the popular Spanish resorts of Fuerteventura, Mallorca, Tenerife, and Las Palmas. Hurghada, Egypt, is also on the schedule. Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG sees the new base as a significant boost to tourist air traffic, which accounts for the majority of passenger traffic in Leipzig/Halle.

Marabu Airlines offers a business class option on all flights with enhanced services such as separate check-in, higher baggage allowances, lounge access, and a hot inflight meal. By basing the aircraft in Leipzig/Halle, the airline aims to further expand its presence in Central Germany.
