Munich Airport is currently testing an innovative, remote-controlled passenger bridge. During a six-month pilot phase, various scenarios will be tested, including weather conditions and obstacles.
Fully automated, AI-supported systems are planned for the long term. At the same time, a new baggage unloading aid will be introduced, which will significantly reduce the workload of ground staff. These technological advances are being developed in cooperation with the Lufthansa Group and the Terminal 2 company. The aim is to optimize processes and strengthen the airport as a modern air traffic hub.
