New innovation district at Munich Airport is taking shape

With the publication of new designs by the architectural firm KCAP Architects & Planners will be the vision for the “Pioneer Quarter" at the LabCampus am Munich Airport tangible. The quarter, which is the first of four planned areas to be developed, will include six new buildings with spacious public areas such as the “Pioneer SquareThe visualizations provide a comprehensive insight into the planned design and underline the transition to an identity-forming phase of the campus.

The Pioneer Quarter is aimed at future-oriented companies and research institutions. The planned buildings, designated LAB 47 to LAB 60, offer the opportunity to rent flexible office space or use a building as an individual headquarters. The various spaces, including showrooms, event areas, and restaurants, are intended to promote exchange and collaboration between international corporations, start-ups, and science. With the almost complete occupancy of the existing buildings LAB 48 and LAB 52 and the move of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) By the beginning of 2026, the first quarter will develop into a vibrant location.

The development of the LabCampus is considered an important contribution to the innovation strategy of the City of Munich, which is formulated in the “Innovation Agenda 2030.” The aim of the agenda is to position Munich as a leading location for KI and establish scalable innovations in Europe. In addition to the construction measures, campus life will also be promoted. Two new dining options, the "Daily Bistro forty2025" and the "Cafébar nosh," are scheduled to open at the end of 8.
