New non-stop connection to Antalya expands service from Weeze Airport

Weeze Airport on the Lower Rhine is further expanding its route network. Starting this summer, the Turkish airline Freebird Airlines will launch a new, twice-weekly non-stop service to the popular Turkish holiday destination of Antalya. Tickets for the route can be booked both as individual flights directly with the airline and through the programs of numerous major German tour operators, who have already integrated the new connection into their package tours.

Tom Kurzweg, spokesperson for Flughafen Niederrhein GmbH, expressed his delight at the new flight connection. He pointed out that various tour operators are increasingly active in the package tour sector at Weeze Airport. Freebird Airlines' decision to include Antalya in its flight schedule expands the airport's offerings with another attractive holiday destination that is very popular with both German and international travelers. Antalya, located on the Turkish Riviera, is known for its long sandy beaches, clear blue waters, and numerous historical sights.

Mehmet Demirdal, Germany Manager of Freebird Airlines, emphasized the importance of Weeze Airport for the airline. Freebird Airlines already serves various destinations in Turkey from 14 German airports. The addition of Weeze to the route portfolio is a logical step to further expand the offerings for holidaymakers from the Lower Rhine and the neighboring Dutch Gelderland region. Demirdal expressed satisfaction with the strong demand, both for direct bookings and through the close cooperation with travel agencies and tour operators who have included the new Turkey flights in their schedules. Freebird Airlines, founded in 2001, is a Turkish charter airline based in Antalya that primarily flies to tourist destinations.
