Cologne/Bonn Airport has welcomed a new airline: Electra Airways now offers non-stop flights to the Bulgarian Black Sea coastal cities of Varna and Burgas. The new airline launched its first two routes in recent days, with flights to Varna on Saturdays and Burgas on Mondays and Thursdays. The flights are operated in cooperation with SunExpress.

Thilo Schmid, CEO of Cologne/Bonn Airport, expressed his delight at the expansion of the flight schedule. He emphasized the continued high demand for tourist travel and emphasized that the new connections to Varna and Burgas represent an excellent addition. Electra Airways will provide the aircraft and crew for the flights, while SunExpress will be responsible for network planning and sales, among other things.

Both Bulgarian cities are popular holiday destinations, offering not only sun and sand but also cultural attractions. Varna attracts with long sandy beaches, the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and an important archaeological museum. Burgas also boasts expansive beaches, a lively city center, and the famous Sea Garden. The flight time to both destinations is approximately two and a half hours, and an Airbus A320 is used.
