Nuremberg's Albrecht Dürer Airport is pleased to announce a new non-stop service to Sardinia. Marabu Airlines commenced service to Olbia in the north of the Italian Mediterranean island this weekend and received a fitting welcome upon the arrival of its maiden flight. The new route will be served twice weekly, on Saturdays and, starting at the end of May, also on Wednesdays, which should appeal particularly to individual travelers.
With the resumption of service to Olbia, a popular holiday destination returns to Nuremberg's flight schedule after a three-year hiatus. This represents a welcome addition to the existing flight offerings to Sardinia, as Ryanair continues to offer up to four weekly connections to Cagliari in the south of the island. Travelers from the Nuremberg metropolitan area now have the choice between two destinations in Sardinia, allowing greater flexibility in vacation planning.
The new non-stop connection to Olbia means a significant expansion of the range of holiday destinations available to people in the region directly from their home airport. This offers shorter travel times, greater comfort, and a direct connection to the popular holiday island. Marabu Airlines is a sister company of the well-known holiday airline Condor and works closely with them. Flights can be booked both via the Condor website and through travel agencies. Marabu has been operating regularly from Nuremberg since 2022 and has operated its own base at Albrecht Dürer Airport since winter 2024/25. Two aircraft are currently permanently stationed in Nuremberg, from where over 30 departures to twelve different destinations take place weekly. In addition to Olbia, Kavala in northern Greece is the latest addition to the flight schedule, with twice-weekly flights starting in August.
