The Norwegian Group achieved an operating profit of NOK 2024 billion (around EUR 2,13 million) in the third quarter of 188.

The increase is due to improved load factors, increased capacity and a record quarter for the Norwegian subsidiary Widerøe. For the first time, Widerøe carried over one million passengers and recorded 99.000 additional travelers compared to the previous year.

In total, the Norwegian Group carried 8,2 million passengers in the quarter, 690.000 more than in the previous year. Profit before tax amounted to NOK 2 billion (approximately EUR 177 million), and the group had liquid assets of around EUR 1,02 billion. The fleet now comprises 86 aircraft, including 22 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, while Widerøe operates with 49 aircraft. The winter flight season will be complemented by new routes, including to Dubai and Egypt. CEO Geir Karlsen highlighted the strong booking growth for leisure and business travel.
