The numbers are still far from pre-Corona times, but the desire to travel seems to be back: Around 300.000 passengers are expected at Nuremberg Airport during the Bavarian summer holidays. Compared to the previous year with 125.000 passengers in this period, this is an increase of 140 percent.

During the 2019 holidays, 700.000 passengers still used Nuremberg Airport. “But the trend is clearly upwards,” says airport manager Michael Hupe. "The need to go on vacation or to visit friends and relatives is strong, we can clearly feel that in the growing demand." During the six-week vacation, 2.600 take-offs and landings are planned, 73 percent more than in Corona summer 2020. Strongest goals Nuremberg are Antalya and Mallorca, followed by Istanbul, Heraklion and Izmir.
