The 2024 summer flight schedule will begin at Hamburg Airport in a few days. Three airlines will be adding or reactivating new routes. Among other things, Chisinau can once again be reached non-stop.

“It's summer time again at Hamburg Airport. The airlines are starting the new season immediately, with three of a total of eight first flights taking place in the first week. At the same time, airlines are increasing their frequencies again and flying to popular destinations such as Mallorca or Turkey even more frequently. The holiday planes take off to the south several times a day. This clearly shows that demand for air travel – especially in the holiday segment – is high. In addition to the classic sun destinations, long-distance trips are also popular. “We are all the more pleased that Qatar Airways will start operations at Hamburg Airport and make more than 170 destinations worldwide even more flexible to reach,” says Katja Bromm, Head of Communications at Hamburg Airport.

Qatar Airways will be heading to Hamburg Airport once a day from Doha from July 1, 2024. As early as May 26, 2024, Hisky Europe will fly between Chisinau and the Hanseatic city on Wednesday and Sunday.

Eurowings will also offer flights to Manchester four times a week from March 31, 2024. On the same day, Wizz Air begins flights to Rome with the same frequency. Just one day later, on April 1st, Nouvelair will begin scheduled operations at Hamburg Airport. To start, the airline will take off non-stop to Tunis in Tunisia, with flights taking place twice a week. The Tunisian airline is also offering a charter flight from Hamburg to Djerba from June 26th, which takes place every Wednesday.

In the following weeks, the airlines will continue to expand their portfolio: In addition to Manchester as a city destination, Eurowings will also include two classic holiday destinations in its program. From April 30th, the airline will fly non-stop from Hamburg to Jerez de la Frontera twice a week. The city in Spain's Andalusia region is famous for sherry wines, wild horses and flamenco. With Zakynthos, Eurowings is also adding a Greek destination to its program on May 5th. Every Sunday, northern Germans can reach the popular holiday island. After the winter break, Air Baltic will again be flying non-stop from Hamburg to Vilnius from May 2nd. The route is operated on Thursdays and Sundays.

In addition, many other destinations will be even easier to reach from Hamburg in the summer of 2024 because the airlines are increasing their capacities. There are 14 percent more flights available to Mallorca compared to the previous season. The airlines head to the popular Balearic island up to 12 times a day. After Barcelona, Eurowings and Vueling offer a total of 30 percent more seats than in the previous season. In addition to Spain, the airlines are also focusing more on Scandinavia - Helsinki in particular will be much easier to reach with Finnair and will be served up to three times a day. Overall, Hamburg Airport has an extensive route network. International hubs such as London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Dubai can be reached several times a day.

Volotea intends to fly twice weekly between Hamburg and Nantes on September 17, 2024. This is the fourth destination to be offered by the Spanish low-cost airline from Hamburg. The destinations Lyon and Bordeaux are scheduled to be reactivated at the end of March 2024.
