The German airline Private Wings has operated its first flights from the Swiss airport St. Gallen-Altenrhein to the destinations Olbia in Sardinia, Elba and Brac in Croatia.
Michael Nachbaur, CEO of the tour operator High-Life-Reisen, shared this news via the social network LinkedIn. The seasonal flights are operated on behalf of this tour operator. Private Wings has permanently stationed a Dornier 328-100 at St. Gallen-Altenrhein Airport for this purpose.
Cooperation with High-Life-Reisen enables direct connections
The introduction of these new routes is the result of a cooperation between Private Wings and the tour operator High-Life-Reisen, which is also based at Altenrhein Airport.
Through this collaboration, travelers from Eastern Switzerland, Vorarlberg, and Southern Germany can now reach these attractive Mediterranean holiday destinations conveniently and without stopovers. The Dornier 328-100 in use offers space for 2 passengers in a 1-32 configuration and is designed to provide a comfortable travel experience with short routes and personalized service.
Flight schedule and outlook for the summer season
Direct flights to the new destinations will operate once a week from now until the beginning of October, with a three-week summer break in August. Olbia will be served on Tuesdays, Elba on Wednesdays, and Brac on Thursdays.
These new connections complement the existing offering from Altenrhein, which already includes flights to Vienna and seasonal special flights to other destinations. The stationing of a Private Wings aircraft in Altenrhein underscores the importance of the regional airport for connecting the region to popular holiday destinations.
