Russia: Rossiya-SSJ-100 advised off the runway and got stuck in the snow

On Monday, February 5, 2024, the Sukhoi Superjet SSJ-100 with registration RA-89113 operated by Rossiya Airlines veered off the runway after landing at Saransk Airport for reasons that are still unclear.

The regional jet manufactured in Russia landed in Saransk from Moscow-SVO. The jet veered off the runway shortly after landing. The SSJ-100 went off the runway on the right and got stuck in the snow after about ten meters. The aircraft could no longer be freed from this situation under its own power.

According to official information, a total of 93 people were on board. They are said to have left the Rossiya-operated Superjet unharmed. Local media report that the SSJ-100 did not suffer any significant damage. The Civil Aviation Authority has announced that the incident will be investigated.
