On January 28, 2024, the Boeing 737-800 operated by United Airlines with registration N33289 had to make an unscheduled safety landing at Denver Airport. The windshield in the cockpit was cracked.

The medium-haul jet was on its way from Las Vegas to Washington under flight number UA1627. During the flight, the pilots noticed that a crack had appeared on the windshield. This was reported to air traffic control so that a safety landing could be made in Denver.

There were 166 passengers and seven crew members on board. Everyone was able to leave the plane safely. Technicians immediately made repairs so that the N33289 was able to take off for Washington-Dulles after just under five hours in Denver.
