The tour operator Schauinsland-Reisen is continuing its growth and breaking the two billion sales mark for the first time. In the 2022/23 financial year that ended at the end of October, the company achieved sales of 2,15 billion euros. This corresponds to an increase of 15,6 percent compared to the previous year.

Compared to the 2018/19 season - the last financial year before the outbreak of the corona pandemic - the increase in sales is even 57 percent. The number of guests has also continued to rise this year. A total of 1,88 million people (+6,8 percent compared to the previous year) booked their vacation through Schauinsland Reisen. The most popular destinations were Spain (especially the Canary and Balearic Islands), Greece, Egypt and Turkey. Bookings and sales figures have also increased significantly compared to the previous year in the target areas of Tunisia, Thailand and Zanzibar.

“The strong development once again proves our business model is right,” emphasizes managing director Gerald Kassner. For him, the success of Schauinsland-Reisen is based on three essential aspects: handmade travel offers tailored to the needs of customers, a fair partnership with sales and the high motivation of the employees. The managing director particularly emphasizes the strong performance of his team. The successful financial year was celebrated together last month at a company outing in Mallorca, in which 450 team members took part. “Each individual showed full commitment to offer our guests the best service, even in difficult times such as during the forest fires on Rhodes, when we had to bring numerous holidaymakers back to Germany early. I am extremely grateful to my team for this, as it ensures security and trust for those who entrust us with their holiday wishes.”

The high level of customer trust is also reflected in the renewed growth in package tours. “Our guests appreciate the safety and service as well as the attractive price/performance ratio of the tour organized by the organizer,” explains Gerald Kassner. In addition to the high level of service, Schauinsland-Reisen is characterized by economic solidity and has once again received the CrefoZert credit rating certificate from Creditreform this year.

Gerald Kassner expects the package travel business to be strong again in the coming financial year. “We will continue to focus on quality and service in the future and would like to further consolidate our strong position in the German package holiday market.” Schauinsland-Reisen is also recording high demand for the new financial year, which is already in the double-digit percentage range in terms of both sales and the number of guests the previous year. The tour operator is currently achieving above-average growth in the Canary Islands and Egypt. Booking numbers on the Portuguese holiday island of Madeira and in Tunisia are also significantly higher. “The demand for vacation continues to be high. “We are therefore optimistic and looking forward to the new financial year,” says Gerald Kassner.

With a view to price developments, the managing director emphasizes: “Holidays must remain affordable even for price-conscious customers – especially families. We have therefore consciously expanded our product range to include the cheaper, but qualitatively selected 3 and 4 star segment.”
